Ingredients
Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth
Although it is more common to use diatomaceous earth as a flea preventative or as a pet dewormer, we have added it to Intesti Care to support the healthy, natural function of the intestinal system.
Pet owners who have fed diatomaceous earth have found that their pet has an improved coat, appetite, metabolism, and digestion. It is largely composed of amorphous silica, but also contains calcium, magnesium, titanium dioxide, gallium, sodium, and other trace minerals. Keep in mind that there are different grades of diatomaceous earth, and it is very important that your pet only ingests food-grade diatomaceous earth.
Ground Pumpkin Seeds
Although herbalists today also use pumpkin seeds in the deworming agent for tapeworms and other intestinal parasites, we have included it in Intesti Care for its nutritional content and do not make any deworming claims on the product. Pumpkin seeds contain the amino acid called cucurbitin, which supports the natural elimination processes of the digestive tract. Pumpkin seeds are also loaded with protein, amino acids, fiber, iron, copper, phosphorus and magnesium, calcium, zinc, potassium, folate and niacin.
Ginger
Ginger is in the same family as turmeric and has been used as a spice and medicine in Asia and Arabia for thousands of years. Humans know ginger as a digestive aid for nausea and upset stomachs and the same benefits can be seen in dogs. But the benefits don’t stop there. Many holistic practitioners have recommended ginger for pets with specific conditions as well as for general health.
Elm bark powder
Slippery elm contains many nutrients and trace elements. It coats, soothes and lubricates the mucous membranes that line the digestive tract. Slippery elm's high fiber content helps normalize bowel action, making it good for treating both diarrhea and constipation. Slippery elm is used in the treatment of inflammatory conditions of the lungs, kidneys, bladder, throat and joints because of its ability to relieve inflammation of virtually all mucous membranes.
Thyme leaves
Thyme is commonly used to target bacteria, viruses, and other pests. Thyme has been shown to reduce high blood pressure and lower cholesterol. It also contains antioxidants and is an excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin A. Thyme helps the body digest and process fatty acids.
